Upstream carrier partners and our support team are seeing improvement in call completions in Eastern Canada and will continuously monitor for BC area problems due to the cut fibre and other related troubles. Please contact support at 611 if you are experiencing any other issues. We'll turn the alert to operational and update if anything changes adversely.

net5 carrier update: "Please be informed that the underlying carrier has re-routed the traffic which has resolved the connectivity issue.

We have monitored the traffic and can confirm that all looks good. If you have questions, please reach out to us at support@iristel.com"

net2 and upstream carrier update: "Affected services in eastern Canada are being re-routed and restored as quickly as possible. We continue to seek alternative restoration options with our operations teams and service provider partners and continue to monitor the situation closely. "

Sunday, Feb 2, 12:45 PM MST: UPDATE we continue to see and hear reports of continued and disrupted telephone services across the country, with the most reports of outages impacting BC.

We are monitoring with multiple upstream carrier partners and the most recent update indicates a regional issue in British Columbia, that has widespread issues to other areas in the country and with all telephone carriers:

"We are aware of a major outage in BC affecting services due to a major rock slide which affected the national transit for multiple carriers.

We are seeing reports of intermittent Voice service for Bell, Shaw, Telus, and Rogers. We are diligently working on resolving this issue. At this time there is no estimated time of repair however as soon as more information becomes available we will let you know."

Our equipment and switches remain fully operational and can continue to originate and complete calls where the national networks allow.

Please report ongoing issues that you feel are not related to this incident to support, by calling 611 and we will continue to update this incident as news becomes available.

We are receiving reports to our support team of an increase in call completion issues with mobile carriers across Canada. This informational alert is to inform our valued partners and clients that we are monitoring the situation.

We have no issues with any of our own systems and maintain 100% uptime.
